On a day that desperately needed good news, Warner Bros. has come through: Young Justice will officially be getting a season 3!
It’s OK to be screaming if you are currently screaming.
The beloved show ran just two seasons and 46 episodes on Cartoon Network before being cancelled in 2013. But a decent Netflix run and a resurgence of interest on social media caught the WB’s attention and production is officially beginning now.
All Warner Bros. gave was a slight tease in which they promise “new twists, turns and dangerous new threats for the team, but most importantly, the opportunity for fans to finally continue the adventures of some of their favorite Super Heroes.” They also debuted a placeholder poster which gives us no information either. But in all honesty, “Season 3″ is enough information to sate us for a while. (Although: “Don’t worry: Wally will be back.” would be an appreciated confirmation as well.)
With DreamWorks’ Voltron: Legendary Defender doing so well on Netflix, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that the show could see its first run on the streaming platform as well. Or maybe with the end of Regular Show and Adventure Time on the horizon, Cartoon Network is looking to add a recognizable title back into its lineup.
So… are you whelmed?
