Simon Pegg, the Monty Python crew, Robin Williams, and more come together to save the world in the trailer for Absolutely Anything.
In his latest sci-fi comedy romp, Simon Pegg is given the ability to make absolutely anything happen with a few words and a flick of his wrist. Little does he know that he was chosen at random and given this power by alien forces who are testing to see if Earth is worthy of not being destroyed. From getting dressed in the morning to raising the dead, Pegg’s character gets into all sorts of shenanigans as he starts to realize this new found power may not be all it’s cracked up to be.
Absolutely Anything follows a disillusioned school teacher (Pegg) who suddenly finds he has the ability to do anything he wishes, a challenge bestowed upon him by a group of power-crazed aliens (voiced by Cleese, Gilliam, Jones, Palin & Idle), watching him from space.
As he struggles to deal with these new found powers and the events that subsequently arise, he calls upon his loyal canine companion Dennis (voiced by Robin Williams) to help him along the way.
Mishap after mishap finally leads him to the ultimate conundrum that all men dread and at which many have failed….should he choose the girl….or the dog….?
With the voice of the late Robin Williams as his faithful dog, Dennis, who he gives the ability to speak, Pegg’s character attempts to navigate life wielding his genie-like powers and maybe inadvertently save the world. The star-studded cast includes Simon Pegg (Neil Clarke), Kate Beckinsale (Catherine), Robin Williams (Dennis the Dog), Joanna Lumley (Fenella), Eddie Izzard (The Headmaster), Rob Riggle (Grant), Meera Syal (Fiona), Sanjeev Bhaskar (Ray), as well as Michael Palin, Terry Jones, Terry Gilliam, John Cleese, and Eric Idle as the extraterrestrials.
Absolutely Anything will land in theaters on August 14, 2015.
