Vin Diesel Continues to Tease Inhumans Role

He’s at it again.

We love the amazingly nuanced performance Vin Diesel gave with three simple words as Groot, the breakaway star of Guardians of the Galaxy. We’re thrilled for more in the sequel set for 2017, but in the meantime, Diesel has been having lots of fun teasing fans about a possible second role in the Marvel universe.

A teasingly worded post or two on Facebook have implied specifically that Diesel may be cast as an Inhuman.

When a reporter asked about the rumors at the recent Furious 7 press junket, Diesel was all smiles as he seemed to struggle for a response he could give without getting in trouble, which resulted in an appeal to the camera, “You see Marvel? They ask me these questions!”

The rest of his response was diplomatic enough to be vague, but still imply that we just might see him again in a less tree-like situation.

I enjoyed the experience of playing Groot. A lot of it was the great cast and the genius of James Gunn. But I also enjoyed, you know, venturing into the Marvel world and… good things will come from that.

However, until any official announcements are cleared about his future with Marvel in a possible second role, the only confirmations he can make boil down to: “I am Groot.”

(You knew we were going to go there.)

Diesel also talked about his MTV Movie Awards Best On-Screen Duo nomination with his co-star Bradley Cooper’s Rocket Racoon and his and James Gunn’s shared excitement for Groot’s role in Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is set to hit theaters May 5, 2017. Inhumans is currently scheduled for July 12, 2019.
