There is some seriously exciting news coming out of Las Vegas’ DICE Summit today, and it’s prompted the ridiculous headline you see above.
Valve managing director Gabe Newell and JJ “reboot ALL THE FRANCHISES” Abrams delivered the conference’s opening keynote today. In it, they surprised everyone in attendance by announcing they had been in talks to team up for a long while. Bad Robot, Abrams’ production company, would produce movies based on Valve product, while Valve would create video games based on Bad Robot’s ideas.
As quoted by Wired.com:
“There’s an idea we have for a game that we’d like to work with Valve on,” said Abrams while sharing the stage with Valve head Gabe Newell.
“We’re going to figure out if we can make a Portal movie or Half-Life movie together,” Newell said.
You know what this means?
Aperture Science… with LENS FLARE!
This may be the best, and most rewarding example of synergy nerds have ever gotten. Agree? Of course you agree, why would I even ask.
