Deadline is now reporting that Lea Seydoux (Spectre, Inglourious BasterdsMission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol) has been offered the role of Belladonna Boudreaux. The news comes after it was announced that Rebecca Ferguson had dropped out of the running in order to star in DreamWorks’ upcoming adaptation of The Girl On The Train.

It looks like the Ragin’ Cajun is getting a leading lady. And before you ask: no, it’s not Rogue.

Deadline has unveiled the short list for the role of Belladonna Boudreaux, the female lead in Fox’s Gambit film starring Channing Tatum. In the comics, Bella and Remy LeBeau were childhood friends and lovers whose families belonged to rival Guilds. They had an arranged marriage, but things went sour after her brother challenged Gambit to a deadly fight, which ultimately resulted in him leaving New Orleans. So who’s up for the part in the Rupert Wyatt-directed X-Men spinoff? Let’s find out!

Rebecca Ferguson

Topping the list is Mission: Impossible  Rogue Nation star Rebecca Ferguson. The Swedish actress won an Emmy for her performance as Elizabeth Woodville in the British television series The White Queen. She also recently appeared alongside Dwayne”The Rock” Johnson in 2014′s Hercules and is currently filming the biographical comedy-drama Florence Foster Jenkins with Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant.

Lea Seydoux

Also testing for the role is Lea Seydoux, who’s playing Madeleine Swann in Spectre, the latest installment in the 007 franchise. She’s starred in a number of major movies, including Inglourious BasterdsRobin HoodMidnight in Paris, and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. She was also in Wes Anderson’s Oscar-winning film The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Abbey Lee

Last but not least is Abbey Lee, who was last seen as The Dag in the critically acclaimed blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road. She recently wrapped production on Gods of Egypt, an epic fantasy about the war between the gods Set (Gerard Butler) and Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) for control of the Nile River Valley. Lee is currently working on an upcoming thriller titled The Neon Demon, which stars Elle Fanning, Keanu Reeves, and Christina Hendricks.
