The new seasons are coming up soon, but the CW is still filling out their superhero rosters for their DC shows Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow. This week, they announced actors for three new roles: Hawkman, Vandal Savage, and Wally West.
First we have Falk Hentschel, who will be playing Carter Hall, better known as Hawkman. He’s the latest version of an Egyptian Prince who is fated to reincarnate throughout time along with his soulmate, Kendra Saunders a.k.a Hawkgirl, a role that’s already been filled by Ciara Renée. Like Kendra, Carter can access the powers of Horus, transforming him into the winged warrior known as Hawkman. Before appearing in the midseason series Legends of Tomorrow, Hentschel will be in crossover episodes of both Arrow and The Flash.
Next up we have Casper Crump, who takes on the villainous role of Vandal Savage. A 6,000 year old immortal, Vandal has moved through time, twisting politics and world leaders in ways that would lead to his world domination in the future. Like Hentschel, Crump will be appearing in Arrow and The Flash before being the main baddie the team of Legends of Tomorrow bands together to defeat.
And finally, there’s Keiynan Lonsdale as the young Wally West, better known as Kid Flash. In the comics, Wally is the nephew of Iris West, who gains speedster abilities after accidentally duplicating the accident that gave Barry his own. It was announced that Wally would be coming to The Flash way back at SDCC, but it’s still unclear if or when he’ll become a speedster. Unlike Hawkman and Vandal, Wally will only appear in The Flash, but he will be a series regular.
The Flash will premiere Tuesday, October 6, followed by Arrow on Thursday, October 8. There’s no set date for the Legends of Tomorrow premiere, but it will be happening sometime in early 2016.
