What happens when you mix a classic story, modern storytelling, and a passionate fandom? Harry Potter? Well, yes, but you also get The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, a YouTube vlog-style retelling of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. If you’ve been keeping up with the story you know that its familial main characters are just about to head off to Netherfield: Well, they’re also coming to LeakyCon. The series’ four main stars – Ashley Clements (Lizzie), Laura Spencer (Jane), Julia Cho (Charlotte), Mary Kate Wiles (Lydia) – as well as head writer Bernie Su, and creator and producer Hank Green, will be at LeakyCon this year for a panel (moderated by Maureen Johnson) on this most modern of adaptations, and what happens when something with a huge fanbase stands the test of time.
