Orphan Black and Battlestar Galactica actress Michelle Forbes has officially joined the cast of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay–Part 2 in the role of Boggs’ second in command, Lieutenant Jackson. Jackson is a District 13 soldier and part of Squad 451—the squad that helps Katniss in her fight against the Capitol.
Forbes joins a number of other actors already cast in the final movie of the Hunger Games series, including Game of Thrones actress Gwendoline Christie. Christie replaced Lily Rabe as Commander Lyme, a District 2 soldier and past tribute who is also fighting the Capitol. Unfortunately, Rabe had to pull out due to her prior commitment to Much Ado About Nothing at Shakespeare in the Park.
Both Christie and Forbes are accustomed to playing strong, fighting women. Christie is well known for her role as Brienne of Tarth on Game of Thrones, and Forbes has played Ro Laren on Star Trek: Next Generation and Admiral Helena Cain on Battlestar Galatica.
We still have well over a year before the second installment of the epic finale is released; The Hunger Games: Mockingjay–Part 2 is due to hit cinemas November, 2015.
