“The Fault in Our Stars” Cover Revealed; Abundance of Covers Contest

Moments ago John Green revealed the cover to his upcoming novel The Fault in Our Stars on his tumblr. The highly anticipated release will be coming out in the U.S. on the 10th January 2012 and all pre-orders will be signed as Green is signing all 150,000 copies in the first printing. Check the cover out below, complete with a very nice blurb from Jodi Picoult who described The Fault in Our Stars as “Electric…filled with staccato bursts of humor and tragedy.” The cover was designed by Rodrigo Corral, who also designed the cover for Jay-Z’s Decoded, Jeffrey Eugenides’ The Marriage Plot and Super Sad True Love Story by Gary Shteyngart.

Secondly, Penguin have launched the Abundance of Covers contest, a competition to design the new cover for Green’s second novel, An Abundance of Katherines. The competition ends on the 21st November 2011 and you can read the full rules here on the Penguin website.

You can pre-order a (signed) copy of The Fault in Our Stars on Amazon, Barnes & Noble or at your local independent bookshop.

What do you think of the cover? Will you be taking part in the competition? Let us know in the comments!

The cover’s seriously disappointing, especially after seeing some of the really amazing Nerdfighter-created ones. Also, a blurb from Jodi Picoult is just downright embarrassing.

If John Green likes it, then it must fit the book, and it’s simple. I like it. I’m excited to attempt designing a cover for AAOK too (:

I love the cover, and I’m sure I’ll love it even more once I read the book. It’s disappointing to see everyone hating on the cover that the author appears to really like.
