Team StarKid is back with something big, and you won’t find it on YouTube. Their new sketch comedy show, Airport for Birds (and Other Great Ideas), is coming to The Second City’s UP Comedy Club from January 27-March 3, 2013.
Known for creating heartfelt parody musicals for YouTube, Team StarKid now jumps from the small screen to no screen at all! Airport for Birds is an evening of “great” ideas and other bits that have hit the cutting room floor. Come see some familiar StarKid faces fly through 90 minutes of sketch comedy, video shorts, and music!
Airport for Birds (and Other Great Ideas) is written and performed by StarKid regulars including: Chris Allen, Jaime Lyn Beatty, Jeff Blim, Denise Donovan, Brian Holden, Lauren Lopez, Meredith Stepien, Nicholas Strauss, and Joseph Walker. They are joined by StarKid newcomers Pat Rourke and Daniel Strauss.
The production is directed by Corey Lubowich, with music direction by Nick Gage. The lighting designer/stage manager is Sarah Petty. The show is produced by Brian Holden and Corey Lubowich, with associate producer Daniel Strauss.
Tickets for Airport for Birds (and Other Great Ideas) can be purchased online at UPcomedyclub.com or by phone through The Second City Box Office at (312) 337-3992 starting December 19, 2012 at 11am CST. Regular tickets are $18 and reserved VIP seats at select performances are $50. Performances are at The Second City’s UP Comedy Club, located at 230 W. North Ave on the third floor of Piper’s Alley in Chicago’s Old Town. Shows are at 7pm on January 27, February 3, 10, 17, 24, and March 3, 2013. Seating is first come first serve, with doors opening an hour before curtain.
