Good news, Supergirl fans! Thanks to its popularity and weekly ratings, CBS has ordered a full first season for its DC Comics television series. Supergirl will be getting another seven episodes, and will be finishing season one with a grand total of twenty.
For those of you who haven’t watched Supergirl yet, the show revolves around Kara Danvers, also known as Kara Zor-El. Originally sent to Earth to look after her cousin Kal-El, her ship was thrown off course due to the explosion of Krypton, trapping her in the Phantom Zone for more than 20 years. When she finally reaches Earth, her cousin is all grown up and saving the world as Superman. Since he no longer needs her protection, Kara is able to grow up as a normal girl, even though she has the same powers as Kal-El. Now living in National City, Kara decides to put on a cape of her own as Supergirl, protecting her city from threats while juggling her busy job as personal assistant to Cat Grant, the founder of media powerhouse CatCo.
Supergirl airs Monday nights at 8:00 pm on CBS, or you can catch up on the series on CBS All-Access.
