Total Film recently reported that The Hangover star Bradley Cooper may be in the running to voice Rocket Raccoon in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie set to be released in August next year.
For those who are unfamiliar with Guardians of the Galaxy, Rocket Raccoon is a prominent member of the 2008 relaunch of the Marvel superhero team. Rocket Raccoon is mostly called on for his expertise in weaponry and his capability as team strategist. Also, he’s a talking raccoon- what’s not to love?
The upcoming movie is set to follow a jet pilot as he gets stranded in space and must unite a diverse team of aliens to form a squad capable of defeating cosmic threats.
The majority of the cast for the latest Marvel project has already been announced and includes the likes of Chris Pratt (as Star Lord), Dave Bautista (as Drax the Destroyer), Benicio Del Toro (as The Collector), Zoe Saldana (as Gamora), and Michael Rooker (as Yondu).
It has previously been rumored that actress Ophelia Lovebond would gain a role in Guardians of the Galaxy, and actor Vin Deasel has been dropping giant, anthropomorphic tree-sized hints at his role in the upcoming movie. While IMDb “confirms” his inclusion, we still have no official word yet on what role he will play. All of these rumors would add these actors to the cast along with recent confirmations of Glenn Close as Nova Prime (recently seen filming in London) and Karen Gillan as Nebula.
Guardians of the Galaxy is to be released August 1st 2014.
