Multiple sources are reporting that actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, 46, was found dead this afternoon in his Manhattan apartment. Cause of death is suspected to be a drug overdose, according to an anonymous NYPD officer speaking to the New York Times.
Hoffman was a multiple Academy and Tony award nominee and won the Best Actor Oscar for Capote. He was most recently featured as Plutarch Heavensbee in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and was set to appear in both parts of the upcoming sequel, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.
He is survived by longtime partner Mimi O’Donnell and their three children.
