New Game of Thrones Season 6 Trailer Drops Ahead of Premiere

The season 6 premiere of HBO’s Game of Thrones is less than two weeks away, and if it wasn’t clear that the showrunners are preparing to put our favorite characters through 10 episodes of hell before, then this new trailer will certainly change your mind.

We all know Game of Thrones can be about as unforgiving as a show can get, but this trailer in particular features a lot of death and violence. We also see a lot of the dead — both Jon Snow and the army of the dead, including the Night’s King. The trailer makes it clear that they’re sticking with the “Jon Snow is dead” shtick and we won’t be seeing him up and kicking any time soon.

The trailer also features Davos taking up Jon Snow’s mission to arm Westeros against the dead rather than against each other, a shot of Daenerys meeting her new Dothraki captors, and Tyrion facing Daenerys’ two hidden dragons for the first time. The season will also be rife with conflict between the Crown and the Sept as Cersei and Jaime prepare to defend their family’s honor and arm their king son against the High Sparrow.

Watch the trailer in the player below and let us know what you’re most excited to see in Game of Thrones season 6, which premieres April 24 at 9pm on HBO.
