We might not be getting a Teen Titans series, but another DC Comics show could be heading to television.
THR has reported that NBC is ordering four new comedy pilots, including one for a series called Powerless. Described as “an office comedy about the exceedingly average employees at an insurance company and their quest to find their own power,” Powerless will be a single-camera show and is being written by Ben Queen, with Michael Patrick Jann as executive producer and director of the pilot. If the project is greenlit, it will be Warner Bros.’ fifth DC Comics television series.
The proposed series shares some similarities with ABC’s newest planned Marvel show, Damage Control. Both single-camera comedies, both centered around unpowered people living in a superpowered world. But where the employees of Damage Control aren’t looking to become the heroes they clean up after, the characters in Powerless could very much be bitten by the proverbial superhero bug.
