After many hours on set watching his books be turned into films, John Green has finally taken up the title of producer.
John Green has signed a first-look producing deal with Fox 2000 and will be working with Temple Hill. Specifically he will be working with Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen, the duo that has produced The Fault in Our Stars and Paper Towns. He’s already signed on to several projects, but no details have been released on what they might be.
Fox 2000 president Elizabeth Gabler shared her excitement over bringing Green on board:
We are elated to expand upon our already extraordinary relationship with John and feel honored to be able to enhance our creative horizons together. He is truly a force of nature and we are proud to be part of his world.
Of course, we’ve known for a long time that John is a “force of nature” and are extremely excited to see what he does as a producer.
Now that Paper Towns has wrapped up, next on the agenda for Temple Hill is John Green’s Looking For Alaska. Hollywood has been working backwards through John’s finished works, Looking For Alaska being his first novel.
The Paper Towns movie adaption releases in just a few short days, on July 24, in theaters everywhere.
