It looks like we’re getting a second script book of an original J.K. Rowling work this year. Pottermore reports that on November 19, the screenplay for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will receive the publishing treatment, hitting shelves only a day after the film’s release. According to the site, fans can pick up a print edition from the author’s publishing company Little, Brown in the UK, or from Scholastic in the US and Canada. Pottermore will also have the eBook available as it does for the complete Harry Potter series (though it bears noting that their online shop is not available in all countries).

While Fantastic Beasts technically does have a book counterpart, it’s only a small version of Newt Scamander’s textbook, containing some cheeky handwritten notes in the margins from Harry, Ron, and Hermione. A hard copy of the script is sure to please film buffs and dedicated fans alike. Although a print edition may be viewed as unnecessary to some, the news seems to be part of a larger trend: the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be released as a script book on July 31, a day after its first performance.
