The first poster for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug has just been released on the official Hobbit Movie twitter page.
The poster for the second installment of the three-part movie adaptation of J.R.R Tolkien’s novel, The Hobbit, depicts Bilbo Baggins looking off into the distance at what can be assumed as the Gate of Erebor, quite thoroughly ruined by the dragon Smaug, who Jackson seems intent on keeping off screen until necessary. Fans will remember that all we see of Smaug in the first Hobbit installment is a single glowing eye. The dragon, voiced by none other than Benedict Cumberbatch (if that is his real name), is the primary antagonist of the book version of The Hobbit, and presuming that Jackson doesn’t get too carried away, also the film versions, too.
The tweet also stated:
“The new trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will be unveiled this Tuesday (June 11th) at 10 am PST!”
