There have been a lot of Doctor Who related heart attacks lately, and I expect there will be many more. DW fandom seems overtaken by excitement and anxiety in almost equal measures on account of the anniversary. Very exciting times ahead.

There was a big rumor that SPOILER!!! John Hurt would be playing the forgotten “real” 9th Doctor, effectively retconning New Who and making Eccleston 10, Tennant 11, and Smith 12. However, based on the fact that Hurt is wearing 9′s exact leather jacket, I think it’s more likely that he’s playing some alternate version of 9. We know Eccleston met with Moffat, but eventually declined to return. Maybe Moffat decided to keep 9 anyway. That’s my theory.
