Doc Brown to Save the World in Back to the Future Short Film

We’re less than a month away from October 21, 2015, the date Marty McFly time travels forward to in Back to the Future II, and since Marty’s visit was to 30 years in the future that means we’re coming up on the 30th anniversary of the original film’s 1985 release.

A new Back to the Future 30th Anniversary Blu-Ray Box Set will be available on October 20 with all three movies and lots of bonus features, including a short film starring Christopher Lloyd in which Back to the Future Co-Creator/Producer/Writer Bob Gale explains that the 2015 we live in isn’t the same as the 2015 in Back to the Future II thanks to Doc Brown’s actions. Watch the new teaser for Doc Brown Saves the World below.

In addition to the 30th Anniversary Blu-ray Set, a larger, even cooler Back to the Future: The Complete Adventures box set, which includes all three films, the animated series, a new bonus disc, and a 64 page book all packaged in a Flux Capacitor, will also be released on October 20.

There’s plenty more going on for the 30th anniversary such as screenings, concerts, a museum exhibition, and other events. Great Scott!
