CW Looking to Crossover All of Their Superhero Shows, Releases 2016-2017 Schedule

Now that Supergirl is officially a CW show and therefore joining the other DC universe shows on that channel, the world is ready for all of the heroes to combine forces. We’ve had Supergirl team up with the Flash, we’ve seen the Flash on Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow is basically a refuge for all those heroes and villains ousted from other shows. So it really isn’t a surprise that CW president Mark Pedowitz has confirmed that plans for such an event are underway. According to Variety, he talked to reporters during a conference call ahead of the network’s upfront presentation, he announced that everyone is ready to make this crossover event will “be the biggest one ever.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, CW also announced its schedule at the Upfronts, which includes the four DC superhero shows, other regular hits such as Jane the Virgin and four new shows. From Monday to Thursday, every night will see some action with Supergirl airing on Monday, The Flash on Tuesday, Arrow on Wednesday, and Legends of Tomorrow finishing the line up on Thursdays. Considering crossovers tend to air for consecutive episodes, we are in for quite a few nights spent in front of the television! CW is also splitting The Vampire Diaries, which will continue to air on Fridays, from its partner show Originals, which is getting a mid-season premiere and has moved Supernatural and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend to Thursdays and Fridays respectively. Jane the Virgin is staying put on Monday, while new show No Tomorrow will get a slot on Tuesdays and the other newcomer Frequency will air Wednesdays.

Are you excited about the prospect of such a big cross over? And what do you think about the new schedule? Let us know in the comments!
