Check Out Nina Dobrev, Alia Shawkat and Taissa Farmiga in Horror-Comedy The Final Girls

She may have left The Vampire Diaries, but you can see Nina Dobrev in a blood-filled movie very…soon…! (Okay, so the connection is more tenuous than I would like.) Ditto for Taissa Farmiga re: American Horror Story and Alia Shawkat in all of the “that’s why you always leave a note”-type scenes in Arrested Development.

Scream fans (of the original movie anyway, I haven’t seen the TV show) are likely to enjoy the trailer for The Final Girls, viewable below:

Taissa Farmiga plays Max, a young girl whose actress mother passed away shortly after filming a slasher movie called Camp Bloodbath. When she and her friends go to watch the movie, a fire breaks out at the cinema and all of them attempt to escape by tearing through the screen…only to end up in the movie.

Again, Scream-type genre savviness prevails as the group of them try to figure out how to survive the experience and “make it to the end of the movie” alongside a star-studded cast including Malin Akerman, Adam DeVine, Alexander Ludwig, Thomas Middleditch, Angela Trimbur and Tory N. Thompson.

Directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas), The Final Girls will be out both in cinemas and on VOD and digital platforms on October 9.

Are you guys going to be checking it out? Because I have to admit, it looks sort of insanely hilarious.
