Behold the Whimsical Cruelty of A Series of Unfortunate Events

There’s nothing better than Patrick Warburton giving a monologue. Unless, of course, it’s Patrick Warburton portraying Lemony Snicket as a part of the trailer for Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events.

The teaser trailer gives us little more than a gloomy setting to look at, but it’s undeniably exciting to hear Mr. Snicket’s warning to look away and not partake in the Baudelaire children’s sadness.

The trailer also plays with the meta fourth-wall breaking that made the book series so unique.

And lastly we get a brief tease of Neil Patrick Harris’ Count Olaf as we can hear him laugh in delight from somewhere in the distance.

A Series of Unfortunate Events was previously made into a 2004 film starring Jim Carrey as Count Olaf and Jude Law as Lemony Snicket. The film only went through the first three stories in the 13 book children’s series, but was not enough of a success to warrant sequels. We would like to state, for the record, that the movie is seriously underrated.

Get excited kids – A Series of Unfortunate Events debuts on Netflix Friday, January 13th 2017.
