Anthony Head Is Percy Jackson’s New Chiron

It was announced yesterday that actor Anthony Head, who is well known for his role as Giles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, will be replacing Pierce Brosnan as Chiron the centaur in the upcoming Percy Jackson sequel Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Sea of Monsters.

This is not the first role that will be played by a different actor than the original movie. How do you feel about all the changes? Let us know in the comments!

they can recast all they want, but will the characters be rewritten to actually those in the books? will the plot be the same as in the books? If its anything like the first movie, whats the point of having new actors even great ones like AH

Ugh. I hate recasting in a series. It just messes up the flow of the story for me.

Wish they had cast Tony Head in the first place…

Well, the flow of the movie was already messed up from the beginning. It is nothing like the books. I am not even sure how they are making this movie really. I LOVE Anthony Head. If I was ever going to marry a man 40 years my senior it would be him, but having said that I REALLY DON’T want him doing this movie. He deserves to do only amazing roles and while I love Chiron, this is NOT the Chiron in the books. It’s a movie Chiron…and that Chiron is awful!

stupid, it just ruins the film

could anyone tell me when the film is due to be released?

I don’t mind them recasting… and I love the pictures that show a more close to the book characters!!! Can’t wait to see if they can actually save the movie by staying closer to the books!!
