Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Casts Adrianne Palicki as Mockingbird

While they hinted at their Comic-Con panel that S.H.I.E.L.D. superspy Bobbi Morse, codename Mockingbird, would likely be involved in the upcoming season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., we only just got new details. She will be appearing the fifth episode of the next season, and Adrianne Palicki (of Friday Night Lights) has been cast.

If you haven’t heard of Palicki, you may still remember her as having the titular role in the ill-fated pilot NBC did for Wonder Woman a few years back. She said back then that she was an avid comic book collector, and we hope that hasn’t changed as she finally takes a real step into the comic TV universe.

Mockingbird is a famous S.H.I.E.L.D. operative who is part of the absolute top echelon of skill and qualification. We’re talking Agent May status. In the comics, Morse sustains a huge injury during a mission and is given some Super Soldier Serum to help her heal, which predictably endowed her with superhuman strength and agility. While we have no idea whether or not that part of Mockingbird’s storyline will be part of the show, it’s always something to think about.

About time! I still don’t know why they didn’t include characters like Mockingbird from the start seems like they were right in the wheel house of what the show should have been.

Time for a Jeremy Renner cameo to give homage to Hawkingbird. :)
