Action-Packed Batman v Superman Comic-Con Trailer Hits the Web

DC, you’ve got our attention.

The brand new, action-packed trailer for Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice that premiered at Comic-Con earlier today has now been released online, and it’s a doozy! It runs over three minutes long, features a ton of new footage, and FINALLY gives us a proper glimpse of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. But enough blabbering; let just get to it:

Not to shabby, right? After the somewhat underwhelming teaser that first leaked back in April, this trailer is definitely restoring our faith in the film’s potential. In addition to Gadot, we’re also getting our first real look at Jeremy Irons as Alfred and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. There’s a lot going on, but the motif remains dark. Very early on, it’s established that Bruce Wayne appears to have been in Metropolis at the end of Man Of Steel when the city was destroyed. Haunted by messages of failure, the fever begins to develop, resulting in Batman being dubbed a “one man reign of terror.” Now believing that Superman has the power to wipe out the human race, he vows to destroy him, despite Alfred’s warning that he is not the enemy.

Meanwhile, Superman is testifying before Congress about the events of that day, and we see Lex Luthor in action telling a U.S. Sentator, played by Holly Hunter, that “evils don’t come from hell beneath us; they come from the sky.” He’s also lusting after some really bright Kryptonite.

The overall plot is established and best summed up by one of the best lines in the trailer:

“Black and blue. God versus man. Day versus night.”

Still notably missing, however, are Jason Momoa and Ray Fisher, who are playing Aquaman and Cyborg, respectively. At this point, it’s unclear if they’ll be featured in any preview spots or if we’ll have to wait for the film to link the Justice League together.

Ready for a showdown? Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters March 25, 2016.
